Homestead Hospital
The site is located next to Baptist Healths $135 million facility. Opened in 2007 and staffed by more than 300 physicians, Homestead Hospital hosts the most technologically advanced equipment and care extending well beyond the immediate area.
Homestead Air Reserve Base
Located in the northeast corner of Homestead and home of the 482d Fighter Wing (482 FW) assigned to the Air Force Reserve Commands Tenth Air Force HARB provides short-notice worldwide deployment with more than 1,500 members, including approximately 1,200 reservists, of which 250 are full-time reservists in addition to 300 full-time civilians.
The base is also home to the US Southern Command, Florida Army National Guard, US Coast Guard Maritime Safety and Security Team, US Army Corp of Engineers, US Customs and Border Patrol.
Miami Homestead Speedway
This economic powerhouse is estimated to drive an estimated $1.25 Billion into the area within the next five years. Its presence is huge for Homestead as a top destination for NASCAR, Formula Auto Racing, National Auto Sport, and drift racing. Key Largo is the first and largest of the Florida Keys and an active partner with Homestead tourism, commerce, and industry with tourism seeing more than 4,436,066 visitors to the Keys in 2013. As an important partner with the Florida Keys, Homestead serves as a residence for workers, businesses, and essential services provider and a tourism partner for Monroe County's estimated 4 Billion dollar tourism market.
Everglades National Park
Everglades National Park draws more than 1 million tourists annually to its ecosystem and diverse habitats which shelter numerous rare and endangered species. It is the largest designated sub-tropical wilderness reserve on the North American continent and generates more than $2 million in communities surrounding the park.
Biscayne National Park
Biscayne National Park is a global destination that welcomes half a million national and international recreation visitors annually who spend more than $30 million supporting local jobs in South Florida.
